Faces – Bonny Shade
Bonny Shade works to ensure all University fraternity and sorority members have a sustainable, healthy and amazing collegiate experience. As associate director for fraternity and sorority life, Shade is a member of a unit that works closely with students who participate in campus Greek life. UNC Charlotte students can join any of the nearly 400 student organizations on campus; however, approximately 6 percent of the student body are members of a fraternity or sorority.
CLAS researcher named IEEE Fellow
Glenn Boreman, chair of the Department of Physics and Optical Science in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, was elevated to the status of IEEE Fellow by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers in recognition of his significant contributions to optical and infrared antenna technologies.
Pride of Niner Nation Marching Band heading to Normandy, follow the journey via live stream
On Thursday, May 31, the Pride of Niner Nation Marching Band embarks upon a trip that bridges the present with the past. They will travel to Normandy, France, to perform at the 74th annual commemoration of the D-Day invasion that liberated Europe.
Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to join in a celebratory send-off for the band, starting at 10:30 a.m., May 31, at the Johnson Band Center.

UNC Charlotte is now a nominating entity for the Pew Scholars Program in Biomedical Sciences, one of the most prestigious junior-faculty fellowships in the field.
Participating institutions are selected on the basis of the scope of their work in biomedical research and recommended to the Pew Charitable Trusts by the National Advisory Committee of the program.
