University participating in bonus leave payouts
The North Carolina General Assembly again has provided a special provision in the current fiscal year’s budget legislation that gives state agencies, including the UNC system, the choice to offer eligible employees the opportunity to cash in a portion of bonus leave previously awarded by the General Assembly.
UNC Charlotte has chosen to participate in this program by allowing eligible employees to cash in up to 20 hours of bonus leave for a one-time payment to be included in their Nov. 30, 2017, paychecks.

Annual Chancellor’s Reception scheduled
This year’s Chancellor’s Reception will be from 2 to 4 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 17, in the Popp Martin Student Union Multipurpose Room.
Hosted by Chancellor Philip L. Dubois, this annual staff recognition event provides an opportunity to socialize and network with colleagues. Light hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served.
Benefits Fair set for Oct. 3
The Benefits Office will host the annual Benefits Fair from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 3, in the Barnhardt Student Activity Center Salons.
All employees are invited to enjoy free food, register for vendor door prizes and take advantage of special health events.
The Leadership Development Program inspires growth, success in participants
Each year, UNC Charlotte sponsors a select number of employees for the Leadership Development Program (LDP) at the Center for Creative Learning in Greensboro. The application for the fall 2017 cohort opens Wednesday, Sept. 20.
The five-day program focuses on six primary competencies: self-awareness, learning agility, communication, influence, resiliency and thinking and acting systematically. Participants also have access to follow-up individual coaching sessions, an assessment to measure progress after training and access to online resources.
