Annabeth Jones is a sophomore Levine Scholar majoring in political science and philosophy with a minor in legal studies. Her passions on campus range from advocating for civic engagement to supporting students interested in entering the field of law as president of the Pre-Law Society.
Why did you choose UNC Charlotte?
Cooking and baking can be super hard when living in a dorm room, but with help from the Culinary Club you’ll be cooking like a master chef in no time. The two main essentials you’ll need are a microwave and a mug – yes we said a coffee mug! If you don’t have a mug, a microwavable bowl will always suffice.

Why did you choose UNC Charlotte?
Kobe Brown is a first-generation college student. A senior majoring in criminal justice, he is a distance runner for the Charlotte men’s track and field team. Additionally, he is vice president of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, attorney general for the Student Government Association and has volunteered for the Center for Counseling and Psychological Services.

Lauren Wilkie is a Gold Duster, recent BMW Intern, woman engineer and first-generation college student. Did you know she’s also a Freeman Scholar who wants to help emphasize women in STEM? With BMW experience, Gold Duster energy and engineering skills, Wilkie is forging her own future.
Mary Messina is a junior pursuing a triple major in international studies (concentrating in peace, conflict and identity), political science and French. She is a Levine Scholar and the founder of Students in Mediation, providing student opportunities to practice and learn mediation and conflict resolution.
Rachel Palmroos, a fourth-year political science major, was born and raised in Charlotte. Her father always predicted this would be her future school and true enough the Charlotte campus became her home. She is a sister of Kappa Alpha Theta, sweetheart of Zeta Beta Tau and field director of the North Carolina Young People’s Alliance.
Christian Rios is a double major in political science and history with a minor in American studies. His involvement on campus ranges from being a Niner guide, previously a senator and now the current SGA chief of staff. He also participates in the Mock Trial club and works in the Popp Martin Student Union as a reservation specialist.

Bell ringers are outstanding student leaders who have demonstrated exemplary 49er spirit within organizations, volunteerism or service to others. One bell ringer is selected for each ceremony.
