Chadwick Boyd ’93 is a noted food and lifestyle expert whose biscuit tour with celebrity chef Carla Hall has created a buzz. He returns to campus Nov. 6 to talk to students about how the University influenced his career.

CCI scholarship honors Reed Parlier

UNC Charlotte and Union County Public Schools administrators joined friends and family of Ellis Reed Parlier on Thursday, Oct. 24, at the Central Academy of Technology and the Arts (CATA) in Monroe, North Carolina, to announce the Reed Parlier Memorial Scholarship.

Giving Green campaign reaches new highs

A record number of Giving Green donors enabled this year’s fundraising drive for the Arts & Science Council and the UNC Charlotte Foundation to bring in $266,867 from faculty and staff.

Vote early with ‘Party to the Polls’

Voting early in this year’s local elections is easy with “Party to the Polls.” From Monday, Oct. 28, through Wednesday, Oct. 30, shuttles to the closest polling location, 8802 J.W. Clay Boulevard, will be offered.This effort is a partnership between the 49er Democracy Experience and the Student Government Association. Shuttles will depart from the Popp Martin Student Union between 2 and 4 p.m.; the last shuttle will return to campus by 5 p.m.

As director of University Recreation, Jim Walczyk is responsible for all aspects of UNC Charlotte’s recreational programs and facilities. He has worked at the University for more than six years and has donated to Giving Green each year.

‘Where Are They Now?’ Alums to talk public service for 49er Democracy Experience kickoff
