The first UNC Charlotte Center City Literary Festival will be on Saturday, Oct. 12; a new event, the festival will feature a carnival-like program for children in the afternoon with a separate evening event geared toward adults.
Friday, Sept. 27, is the early registration deadline for the annual “Fore P.J.” Memorial Golf Tournament. Proceeds from this event fund a $4,000 scholarship provided through the Department of Recreational Services to rising juniors and seniors who are actively involved in the department.
Students who are interested in meeting other veterans as a way to build camaraderie with those who share similar experiences can attend meetings of a veteran’s group coordinated through the Counseling Center.
Veteran’s group meetings will be from 1 to 1:50 p.m., Mondays, starting Oct. 14; weekly sessions will go through Nov. 18.
